After Laal Singh Chaddha, Liger, Ramesh Sippy’s Sholay Is Called ‘Hindophobic’ By ‘Boycott Gang’ For Showing “Sadhus As Criminals” (Via Twitter)

Bollywood is currently going through a rough time with netizens boycotting every release from Aamir Khan’s Laal Singh Chaddha to Vijay Deverakonda’s Liger. It is a major setback for the Indian box office, with netizens now spreading the #HinduphobicBollywood trend across social media platforms, and its next victim is Ramesh Sippy’s Sholay.

While this was not scary enough for the film industry, netizens have now started digging deeper and started bringing in and boycotting movies. One group took to Twitter to delve deeper into the social media platform to bring out old controversial comments of actors calling on anti-Bollywood factions to support their boycott act. While doing so, netizens also brought up the names of the 70s, 80s and 90s.

Recently netizens took to the Twitter platform to boycott the 70s classic Sholay. veteran movie Amitabh Bachchan And Dharmendra was the latest target of this anti-Bollywood faction on Twitter and dubbed the film a Hinduphobic film.

As per the tweet by netizens, the reason for Sholay being called Hinduphobic was the placement of the characters. A tweet on the social media platform said that the film’s character Rahim Chacha, who is the Imam of the village, is a spiritual and loving boy. At the same time, a picture of Kader Khan’s honeymoon was also taken in which two sadhus are shown playing the role of ‘criminals’.

On the film front, Sholay is one of the most iconic and classic projects in the Indian film industry. The film featured veteran actors like Amitabh Bachchan, Dharmendra, Sanjeev Kumar, Hema Malini, Jaya Bhaduri and Amjad Khan. This film came on 15 August 1975. It was directed by Ramesh Sippy.
