Amcomri Entertainment-Backed JV Acquires Screen Media’s UK & Ireland Library Assets; 101 Films To Distribute

101 movies and abacus media rights owner mComery Entertainment has acquired many screen media Libraries owned through a joint entity for the UK and Ireland Head Gear Films Founder Phil Hunt’s Bohemia Media.

Following the deal through JV Positive Limited, 101 Films will distribute over 750 hours of films and TV across regions. 101 previously distributed them under license in the UK and Ireland following a deal struck in 2021.

Positive is funding the deal through loan proceeds from UK television and film financier Head Gear, which owns Bohemia, a London-based production and distribution company. Head Gear founder Hunt is also the CEO of Bankside Films.

“The formation of this strategic alliance to purchase Screen Media Library assets for the UK and Ireland further strengthens the mutually beneficial relationship we have had with mComory over the past three years,” he said.

The deal came soon after Amcomri subsidiary Abacus acquired the assets of Australia-UK distributor Flame Media.
