2022 has been a tough year for Bollywood, its actors and filmmakers. While we saw several films like RRR, Brahmastra, Drishyam 2, Gangubai Kathiawadi, The Kashmir Files, Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 and others impress at the box office with their theatrical releases, others, which were expected to do well at the ticket window, like Laal Singh Chaddha, Bhediya, Raksha Bandhan, Samrat Prithviraj, Bachchan Pandey, Shamshera, and others failed miserably and were ruined at the box office. Now weighing in on the same are filmmakers Anurag Kashyap and Karan Johar who opened up about films not working at the box office.

Kashyap was recently in news for his comment on The Kashmir Files when he compared it to RRR. In an interview he said that TKF doesn’t deserve to go to the Oscars.

Now in a latest interview, Karan Johar and Anurag Kashyap have spoken about the ‘anti-Bollywood’ claim and said that there is no such thing. KJo further said that if this was the case then why would a film open in 35 crores while referring to Brahmastra.

When Anurag Kashyap was asked about Bollywood being seen from the point of view of opposition, the reason for the decreasing ticket sales, he said in Galta Plus Roundtable, ‘This is not true at all, Bollywood is the biggest capitalist. There is no left or right. Adding “The problem is most of these opportunists, the way they use, then it becomes propaganda. And the opposing view is also a counter-propaganda. When Rangan pointed out that Bollywood’s protest was being seen as the reason for the declining ticket sales, Anurag said, ‘This is not true at all. Bollywood Most capitalist. There is no left or right.

Backing Anurag Kashyap, Karan Johar said, “A lot of it is just ridiculous and it’s just theories and conspiracy theories that keep happening and go on. People want to see your film, they are going to see it. no one is hitting Bollywood Because if it was true, why would a film start at Rs 35 crore? Anyone being like ‘anti-Bollywood, but not for this person’.”

“We make great films, they’ll do phenomenally well, you don’t make a good film that doesn’t (work). We don’t have forgiving audiences anymore. We used to have. There was a time when superstars rode on Used to watch a lousy film. Now, even a superstar has to deliver a super product,” said the Brahmastra producer.
