China has always had a relationship with Bollywood. From admiring our Indian culture to Indian films, Chinese people have been very rooted for us. Now once again, he has proved his love by using one of Bollywood’s most iconic dance numbers ‘Jimmy Jimmy’ as his indirect protest anthem. Scroll down to find out what happened.

Well, for the unversed, Jimmy Jimmy song was composed by Bappi Lahiri and was featured on veteran actor and dance icon Mithun Chakraborty. This song was one of the best disco songs which will never go out of trend. However, it started popping up in our feeds over the past few days, and here’s why!

People in China are showing their dissatisfaction with the strict zero-covid policy of the Xi Jinping government, due to which people are locked in their homes. Bollywood Song ‘Jimmy Jimmy’. In Mandarin, ‘ji mi, ji mi’ translates to ‘give me rice’.

Now people are making reels and videos out of empty utensils indicating the lack of rice and essential facilities. These are now trending on Chinese social media platforms Douyin and Tiktok.

People protesting against the government have to face the anger of Chinese security personnel. Even though cases of Kovid have been found once again in the neighborhood of China, but only a few have been found to be Kovid positive. However, the government issued a lockdown for all the localities, creating a huge problem for all.

Well, this is not the first time we have seen China favoring Indian culture or entertainment. Indian films like 3 Idiots, Secret Superstar, Hindi Medium, Dangal and Andhadhun have been thoroughly enjoyed by the Chinese.
