BBC Studios has appointed Chief Finance Officer Tom Fussell as CEO, more than a year after Tim Davey took over as DG.
Fusel has held an interim position since 2020, overseeing the global strategy of the manufacturer-distributor.
He will lead the development of ambitious expansion plans as Dewey oversees diversity and inclusion initiatives and many other areas of the business, along with helping BBC Studios increase commercial returns to 30% over the next five years.
“Over the past year, Tom has proven himself to be an outstanding leader for BBC Studios, driving the company through its most difficult times with both conviction and compassion and delivering strong results,” said Davey.
Fussell said: “BBC Studios is a core part of the BBC Group, and increasingly supports all of its strategic priorities, from unparalleled high-priority content and fairness to online and of course, commercial revenue. With the ambition to serve British and international audiences in new ways, my role is Work With everyone at BBC Studios to strengthen and transform what we do for the future.”
Fussell joined the then BBC Worldwide as Chief Financial Officer in 2016 and assumed the same role when the distribution organization merged with the production organization. He is the former CFO of Shine Group.
