Actor Rohitashv Gaur says he might not take up a TV project after his current show “Bhabiji Ghar Par Hain” and would prefer to do OTT as there are more serious works out there.

According to media reports, he was sharing his perspective about the work being done on TV during a lecture in Lucknow.

Rohitashv Gaur said- ‘Maybe, after ‘I will not do TV’sister-in-law is at home, I want to do mature work and the kind of work that is happening on OTT. After ‘Bhabhi Ji’ ends, I will not do TV because I feel I have done enough work on television. Also, I am not into daily soaps and I want to work in different genres which is not possible on the current medium.

Rohitashv Gaur, who has worked in sitcoms like ‘Lapataganj’, was also seen in films like ‘Lage Raho Munna Bhai’, ‘Kya Kehna’, ‘Munna Bhai MBBS’ and ‘Bhagwan’.P,

He said earlier there used to be senior actors, or graduates from National School of Drama who used to work in TV but now this is not seen and the reason is because of the quality of work they do not get on TV.

According to Rohitashv Gaur, there is a dearth of mature work on TV and more such serious work is happening on digital platforms. He said that many shows were based on literary works like Prem Chandra or Mannu Bhandari’s stories, ‘Discovery of India’, ‘Chanakya’. Though it is not seen much today and that is the reason why NSD graduates are doing well on OTT.

“NSD graduates used to work on TV earlier because the kind of mature content it used to attract them to be a part of it. Now he is more inclined towards OTT. Unfortunately, we only see good faces on TV, or I can say they only work on television.”
