After months of waiting, Varun Dhawan’s Bheriya has finally released worldwide. Going by the response to the trailer and songs, the film was expected to open well at the box office. However, things are not looking so promising as far as advance bookings are concerned. Keep reading to know more.
The trend in all major cities of India is not as expected, which is quite surprising. On the other hand, Ajay Devgn’s Drishyam 2, which had comparatively less buzz on the internet, was taking an undercurrent and went on to garner the second best figures for a Bollywood release in the post-pandemic era, after Brahmastra.
Last day advance booking (before start of first show) for Bhediya is approx 1.85 crores gross. It’s woefully short, making the film entirely dependent on today’s walk-ins. The movie sold most of its tickets for the 3D version, which isn’t as good either. It is facing major competition in the form of Drishyam 2, which is doing exceptionally well on its 8th day as well.
Drishyam 2 The wolf has already impressed, keeping a large part of the screen intact. Now, all hopes are pinned on the public rhetoric and how it drives on-spot bookings for the first day.
Meanwhile, during the promotions of Bheediya, Kriti Sanon revealed that her co-star Varun Dhawan’s telephonic conversations are annoying as he doesn’t say ‘hello’ or ‘goodbye’ at the beginning or end of the conversation. Talking in IMDb’s segment, Work Said, “There’s something that bothers me a little bit, when you talk on the phone there’s no hi, hello, nothing. ‘Yes!’ – That’s first of all. Second, there’s always a subtle distraction when you put the phone down.”
