Black Panther: Wakanda Forever has been in theaters for almost a month now, and it just broke yet another box office record. Ryan Coogler The directorial was released on 11th November with a bang. Since then, it’s only broken one record after another, and it doesn’t look like it’s going to stop anytime soon.
The 2018 original, Wakanda Forever, serves as a tribute to Chadwick Boseman, aka King T’Challa, after the actor passed away due to cancer in 2020. In the second installment, fans see letitia wrightShuri is carrying on the legacy of T’Challa.
Talking about the film, in its fourth weekend, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever has pulled off another win. According to Box Office Mojo, the film has so far collected $733 million Globally. this also includes $339 million foreign and other $393 million Domestic (North America). While it’s mere inches from the crossing $400 million Stateside, the film has managed to set a new record for 2022.
Black Panther: Wakanda Forever is the only film released this year to top the box office charts for the fourth consecutive weekend. Ryan Coogler’s directorial smashes all the competition coming its way. Most recently, it overtook the holiday action thriller Violent Night, which opened wide this weekend.
While that’s a big deal in itself, the Black Panther sequel still has a long way to go to beat the domestic collection of Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness ($411 million) and the current highest-grossing film of 2022, Top Gun Maverick ($717 million,
Black Panther: Wakanda Forever will be able to surpass Doctor Strange 2 but Top Gun 2’s record will be hard to beat. Plus, Avatar: The Way of Water is also a few days away from its premiere. This will definitely have an impact on the collections of the Marvel flick.
