Superstar Shah Rukh Khan’s son Aryan Khan was arrested by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) office on October 3 after a cruise ship was busted for drugs. On 2 October, the NCB raided a rave party on board the Maharani ship of Cordelia Cruises in Mumbai, following which eight people, including Aryan, were detained. After hours of interrogation, he was arrested under sections 20(b), 27, 28 and 29 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act. Arbaaz Merchant and Munmun Dhamecha were also arrested along with Aryan Khan. Later in the day on October 3, Nupur Satija, Ishmeet Singh Chaddha, Mohak Jaiswal, Gomit Chopra and Vikrant Chhokar were also arrested. Now, the order was later passed on October 4 and Aryan Khan, Arbaaz Merchant and Munmun Dhamecha have been sent to the NCB’s custody till October 7.
ASG Anil Singh appeared on behalf of NCB in a Mumbai court. Aryan Khan, Arbaaz Seth Merchant and Munmun Dhamecha have been booked under sections 8C, 20, 27 and 35 of the NDPS Act, he said. Five other people arrested are being investigated. NCB has sought 9 days custody for the accused. According to ANI, the NCB said that they found ‘shockingly objectionable material’ on his phone.
“Unless we investigate the consumer, how do we know who the supplier is, who is financing it?” According to NDTV, the agency told the court. The NCB alleged that an international cartel was clearly involved in the case. Meanwhile, Aryan Khan’s lawyer Satish Maneshinde argued that Khan was a special invitee for Cruise and he cannot be included in the drug bust case. According to NDTV, senior advocate Satish Manshinde, appearing for Aryan Khan, said, “They say that they have got a phone conversation which leads them to the international drug trade. Throughout my stay I am not in any drug use. was not involved.”
Satish Maneshinde said, “They found some with his friend Arbaaz Merchant. They found 6 grams, which is a small quantity. The other seizures were not from any of them and with whom he has no relation.” According to ANI, the lawyer said, “If any substance is seized from any other person (co-accused), then no ground is made out to take my client into custody.”
Aryan Khan, seeking bail before the court, said, “One of the grounds for seeking my custody is confiscation of commercial quantities from other accused. Commercial quantities seized from other accused cannot be imposed on me. They are about international drug smuggling. I am talking. Which is a very serious allegation and must be supported by evidence. WhatsApp chat without any recovery is of no value… In many cases learned judges have granted bail and not tagged the entire confiscation has done.”
The ASG argued that the NCB has seized 13 grams of cocaine, 5 grams of MD (mephedrone), 21 grams of charas (small quantity), 22 tablets of MDMA (ecstasy) (intermediate quantity) and Rs 1,33,000 from the International Cruise Terminal. Mumbai.
