Britney Spears Says She’s Suffered Miscarriage: “We Lost Our Miracle Baby”

Britney Spears Lost her first child with fiancé Sam Asghari.

The pop star broke the news of the miscarriage in a statement posted to her Instagram feed on Sunday. He and Asghari wrote in a joint statement, “It is with our deep sorrow that we have to announce that we have lost our miracle baby in the early days of pregnancy.” “This is a devastating time for any parent. Maybe we should have waited until we were together to make the announcement. But we were extremely excited to share the good news.”

Spears and Asgari went on to say that it is their “love for each other” that is giving them strength through this difficult time. “We will continue to try to expand our beautiful family. We are grateful for all your support,” the pair continued. “We kindly ask for privacy during this difficult moment.”

Spears and Asghari have been engaged since September of last year, and first announced the pregnancy in April—about five months after Spears’s 13-year-long guardianship ended. In response to Spears’ Instagram post, Asgari commented, “We’ll have a miracle soon.”
