Cannes: Pooja Hegde Set To Make Her Debut At The Film Festival While Representing The Nation, Says “I Am So Proud That India Will Be The Country Of Honour”

Actress Pooja Hegde will make her debut representing the country at the annual Cannes Film Festival.

‘Ala Vaikunthapuramulu’ actor Will fly to France on 16 May. She will attend the ceremony on May 17-18 and will be present at the after-party that hosts some of the most famous actors from across the world.

Pooja Hegde says, “First and foremost I am proud that India will be the nation of honor at the Marche ‘Du film at the Cannes Film Festival this year. Our country has a rich history in the festival, which dates back to 1946 at the festival. Associated with top award winning Chetan Anand’s ‘Neecha Nagar’. I firmly believe in the power of cinema and storytelling to overcome language, geographical and cultural barriers.

Pooja Hegde adds, “Cannes represents a unique celebration of overcoming those barriers – through the coming together of film, culture and fashion. The opportunity to participate and represent India is something that I have always loved. Will cherish and hope to continue doing so for the rest of my life.”

on the work front, Prayer Ready to shoot ‘Kabhi Eid Kabhi Diwali’ with Salman Khan and promote Rohit Shetty’s ‘Circus’. She also has ‘SSMB28’ with Mahesh Babu on her slate.
