Bollywood doesn’t have the best track records when it comes to portraying homosexuality, transgender and homosexuals on screen. In fact, although I am not to blame in other respects, even I will admit that Bollywood has been largely responsible for perpetuating stereotypes and wholesale negative attitudes against the LGBTQ+ community. The film industry however is trying to make amends and not just through arthouse projects. Amidst this new twist of redemption, Ayushmann Khurrana and Vaani Kapoor’s Chandigarh Kare Aashiqui comes as a breath of fresh air.

what’s it about

what’s hot

Abhishek Kapoor can blow hot and cold as a director, thankfully Chandigarh Kare Aashiqui is having a better day for him. The balance he strikes between narrating a highly sensitive subject in a professional, entertaining manner without any preaching is admirable.
