Hollywood star Daniel Craig has talked about how he made a cameo appearance in the movie ‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens’.

Speaking at the BAFTA talks, Daniel Craig said: “I almost gave up after that. What else am I supposed to do?
“I think we were doing ‘Spectre,’ and all of our crew was on Star Wars. Ben Dixon, who was our assistant, a great lovely guy Ben Dixon, he was seconding and I kind of went — I had to go to Pinewood, I don’t know what I have to go to Pinewood, do some fitting or something.
“And I said to Ben, I said, ‘Run for me?’ And he was like, ‘Are you serious?’ I was like, ‘Yeah.’ And he went, ‘I’ll go ask JJ’. And he came back and said, ‘Yeah.
Craig’s idea for his cameo was a “background” character, or a disguised role doing something clumsy in the background, but he became much more involved.
Daniel Craig said: “The thing was, I thought ‘background stormtrooper’. I mean I wanted to do that guy who bangs his head in the original, you know the guy who gets his lightsaber or something drops.
“Then I was in the whole f****** scene, I was fine! And we did the scene and then I thought they’d loop me, they’d sound another on that, you know, then me with JJ Had to spend three hours in a looping session doing all the dialogues. Like really, you want me to do this? Call someone else to do it.”
The actor could not believe his luck.
Daniel Craig said: “And I kind of went and said I wasn’t in ‘Star Wars.’ I mean, I thought I was too cool to play with it and everybody started hating me ’cause I Said I didn’t likestar wars‘ And I was just like, ‘Oh that was so stupid’.
“But it was amazing and I’m in the movie and Ryan says the first thing he did when he saw the movie was, ‘Who was that f***** stormtrooper?’ He said he knows it’s someone, whatever. It’s the way I walk, clearly.”
