david rhodeTwo-time Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist who is executive editor of The New Yorker’s digital site is moving on nbc news as senior executive editor, national security, from the following month.
This is the first major hire by Rebecca BlumensteinJoe joined NBC News in January as president of editorial.
In a note to staffers, Blumenstein and senior VP Katherine Kim wrote, “For many of us, David needs no introduction. Blumenstein and Kim wrote that Rohde would oversee the national security team, provide direct editorial and work closely with reporters, producers and reporters. He will also write and report at a fixed time.
Rohde’s recent books include, In Deep: The FBI, the CIA, and the Truth About America’s Deep State, He also previously worked with Reuters.
Rohde will report to Kim and will remain in New York.
