Delnaaz Irani will soon be seen in a pivotal role in the new show ‘Kabhi Kabhi Ittefaq Se’. After his short stint in ‘Choti Sardarni’, she credits the new show for helping her break through her image and do the non-comedian role.
“The short one was out and out negative. She was a very strong headed woman who set out to take revenge on her husband. My character in ‘Kabhi Kabhi Ittefaq Se’ is of a very strong woman. It’s going to be a feel-good show and it’s not going to be regular comic stuff but a lighter vein. My role is very strong,” she said.
Elaborating on her role, Delnaaz Irani said: “My character is that of the beloved sister of the house, who is unmarried and completely pampered and loved by her brothers. She is a bit dominant, but she loves children because she is single and does not have children of her own. She is also a teacher and a little disciplinarian and she wants everything to be perfect.”
‘Kabhi Kabhi Ittefaq Se’ is a remake of a hugely popular Bengali show ‘Khorkuto’, which has also been remade in Marathi.
“Both the shows are doing great and what I liked about the whole thing was the first thing I have done with the production house. Secondly, I wanted to do TV. I am returning to TV after a long time. Also, I wanted to do a good show which was not just comedy,” said Delnaaz Irani.
actress in excellent comedy genre, but the actor in it always wanted to try different things.
He said, “People expect me to do comedy over and over again which is lovely and I feel very proud that there are very few actors who can do comedy, especially women. Doing stand-up is a lot. Different, but it is extremely difficult to play a comic character. I feel blessed when I have a certain image that people think of me and they have a smile on their face.
“But right now I am at a stage where I want to work happily and keep working. As an actor, I wanted to do something different. I am very happy that the production house, the producer and the creative of the show have actually given me two different roles. I think you have to take risks in life when you are trying to do something different, otherwise what is the point,” concluded Delnaaz Irani.
