Despite a lukewarm response at the box office in China since its release last Friday, the much-anticipated “Barbie” starring Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling has been trending on social media over the weekend, and viewers are now using it to find out who qualifies as a suitable boyfriend.

According to one review, Barbie (Robbie) must travel to the human world to discover herself and her true purpose. Her boyfriend, Ken (Gosling), goes along for the ride because his own survival depends on Barbie accepting him. The film, which reverses gender roles by having women dominate Barbieland, has drawn a particularly hostile response from male audiences in China.
