Don Cheadle Shares Touching Tribute To ‘Golden Palace’ Costar Betty White

don cheadle missed her Golden Palace co-star betty white After his death at the age of 99 on New Year’s Eve. the pair collaborated Golden Girls Spinoff series that ran for one season from 1992–1993.


“Daughter was the best,” he shared via Twitter. “When we were shooting scenes together, it was difficult for DP to get the lighting between my chocolate and Betty White! She was either a ghost or a shadow. I came on set one day and Betty adjusted it I had darkened my makeup/hair a bit in an attempt to do that.”

He continued, “No one told him to do it. And it’s just a small example of his overflowing generosity. My dogs thank him too. He gave us his vet Reco that we still see today.” She was the golden of them all and will always be missed.”

His tribute comes shortly before the series is set to make its streaming debut via Hulu on January 10. Golden PalaceThe big comeback was just 7 days later to celebrate White’s 100th birthday.

Golden Palace is set after the events of Golden Girls series finale that saw bea arthurDeparture as Dorothy Zbornak after marrying Blanche (Rue McClanahan) Uncle Lucas (Leslie Nielsen).

It reunited White’s Rose Nylund with Dorothy’s mother, Sofia Petrillo (Estelle Getty), and Blanche, who were in the midst of mayhem as they moved out of the Miami residence they shared for the Titanic Art Deco hotel in South Beach that they would invest in and manage.

White died just weeks after celebrating at his home in Brentwood. she was the last of the original Golden Girls Cast to die after Getty in 2008, Arthur in 2009 and McClanahan in 2010.
