Environmental activism picture ̵6;The Finite: Climate Change’ lands UK release and global sales
Unique: feature documentaries Finite: Climate of Change has secured a UK theatrical release from indie distributor Espresso Media from 15 February. Espresso is also handling global distribution, with sales to Japan (NHK) and Estonia (ERR). The picture is currently releasing in Germany. Directed by climate activist-turned-filmmaker Rich Felgat, the film follows concerned citizens in Germany who step in to save an ancient forest near one of Europe’s largest coal mines. However, local citizens also form an unlikely alliance with a frustrated community in rural northeast England, who are forced to take action to protect their homes from a new opencast coal mine.
Height Board true-crime picture ‘Speedway’
Altitude film sales have started highway, a true-crime feature documentary from first-time filmmakers Luke Rinderman and Adam Kamian. The film digs into one of the United States’ most shocking unsolved cases; Incriminating evidence and myriad theories abound as to how and why four young employees were abducted and brutally killed after their closing shift at a burger restaurant in Speedway, Indiana, in 1978. Altitude will pitch the project to buyers and present the footage at the upcoming European Film Market.
