Friends’ Tom Selleck aka Dr. Richard Burke On Guest Appearing On The Show: “I Was Scared To Death”

Actor Tom Selleck said he was “scared to death” when he guest starred on “Friends”, but claimed that co-star and on-screen girlfriend Courteney Cox was a “huge help”.

The 77-year-old actor joined the stars Courteney CoxJennifer Aniston, Lisa Kudrow, David Schwimmer, Matt LeBlanc and Matthew Perry made a series of appearances as Dr. Richard Burke on the 1995 sitcom, as the short-lived boyfriend of Kourtney’s character Monica Geller, WomenFirst.co. UK reported.

Selleck said: “The hardest thing is to be a guest on a show. I try to comfort new actors because it’s really hard to get into a show where everyone is up to speed. I was scared to death. I did a lot. time ago (an episode of Taxi), but I hadn’t done a sitcom.

“And so, I was really nervous.”

However, the former “Magnum, PI” star revealed that her co-star Cox was a “big help” in welcoming her to the set and claimed that the stars are an “incredible” friendship group in real life. Also in the show.

Speaking on ‘The Kelly Clarkson Show’ he said: “Courtney helped a lot. Kourtney is a big help. But that group is an incredible group of friends. They apparently became friends in life as well as on the show. and it shows. It was a wonderful place to work.”

Selleck was only considered to guest star on the sitcom for three episodes and although Richard and Monica eventually broke up, they made a total of nine appearances between 1995 and 2000.
