Bennett stars in the title role of Barbe-Nicole Ponsardin Clicquot, popularly known as France As the “Grand Dame of Champagne”.
This real-life historical figure broke with tradition to take over her late husband’s wine business in Reims in 1805 after being widowed at age 27.
Production, announced On Deadline is based on the 2008 novel Last Year The Widow Clicquot: The Story of a Champagne Empire and the Woman Who Ruled ItBy Tiller J Mazzio.
Filming took place in the French regions of Chablis and Reims last autumn.
