Idris Elba has reportedly walked away from talks to take over Daniel Craig as the next James Bond. For those unaware, the Luther actor has been the top contender to become the next 007. Not only fans but producers have also expressed their desire to work with Elba.

There are many other names going on besides him. It stars Henry Cavill, Tom Hardy, Richard Madden, kit harrington, Reggae Jean Pages, and more. However, just recently, a new requirement list came out for the British super-spy that stated a certain height and age for the character.

According to him, Idris Elba, Henry Cavill, Tom Hardy, and Kit Harrington dropped out of the race. Now, according to The Sun, Elba has walked away from “years of talks” with the movie bosses to become the next James Bond. It is being said that The Office actor aspires to pursue other roles and has suggested other actors to producer Barbara Broccoli.

“Fans and Barbara wanted Idris Elba, but he wants to make something for himself,” an insider told the outlet. “However, he has put forward names to play 007,” he continued, adding, “he is ‘unofficially’ in the decision-making process because he has been in talks with the producers for so long.”

The actor has talked about playing this character many times in the past as well. Every time he did, he refused to be the next James Bond, even though Barbara Broccoli called him a “fantastic actor.” Elba once even called him the next 007 “wild rumour”.

Since No Time to Die was released in September last year, it marked the end of Daniel Craig as James Bond after 15 years and five films. Looking for the next one. But with Idris Elba out of the game, we wonder who it could be.
