Ranbir Kapoor plays a larger-than-life hero with action entertainer Shamshera. Ranbir, who hit the big screen four years after delivering the blockbuster Sanju, stunned everyone with his incredible intensity when the trailer of the much-awaited film dropped! The trailer unveils a very safe secret that Ranbir is playing the role of father, Shamshera and son, Balli in this vengeful spectacle! This is the first time that Ranbir is playing two characters in the same film and taking a lesson from it, Ranbir is seen redeeming himself in a hilarious promotional video!

In the video, Ranbir sits down for an interview with a Yu by Ranbir Kapoor, who is also played by him, who is hosting a chat show called ‘The Other Kapoor Show’. Kapoor clearly has a history with Ranbir as he feels he was rejected from Saawariya because of his surname and not because of his acting credentials! The interview turns hostile from the word go and Kapoor tells Ranbir about everything from his career trajectory, love life, marriage etc.

The story of Shamshera is set in the fictional town of Kaza, where a warrior tribe is imprisoned, enslaved and tortured by a ruthless authoritarian general Shuddh Singh. This is the story of a man who became a slave, a slave who became a leader and then became a legend for his clan. He fights tirelessly for the freedom and honor of his clan. Her name is Shamshera.
