The makers have started working on the second installment of the blockbuster hit but it has an interesting twist. The second part will not be a sequel, but a prequel tracing the origins of the mythology. The film is a folklore drama of the kingdom and the prequel will explore the relationship between the villagers, the deity and the king.

The excitement and enthusiasm for the film has reached its peak now that Vijay Kiragandur, who produced the film, announced the prequel. Making the big announcement, he also revealed that the scripting, planning and other works of the film have already started and they are looking forward to shoot the first sequence in June. Director Rishab Shetty has planned some scenes in the rain so the team will start shooting for the film in June.

Kantara was made on a budget of 16 crores and did a total business of 400 crores. After the immense success, the makers are working on another chapter to prolong the franchise. Reportedly, Sandalwood actor-director Rishab Shetty, who is making Kantara, is doing Reiki by visiting the forests in the coastal region of Karnataka. He has been associated with his fellow writing partners for two months.

Kantara explores the Bhoota Kola and Daiva dancers, the folklore festivals of Karnataka. The film is directed by Rishab Shetty who also plays the lead role. The film is produced by Vijay Kirgandur, owner of Humbel Films, who also produced KGF.
