Kantara to be screened at the UN; Rishab Shetty opens up on how his movie ‘inspires people to face environmental challenges’ | Bollywood Life

Kantara lifted the Kannada film industry off the map after Yash starrer KGF. The film became a sensation turning into a blockbuster hit. Rishab Shetty, who produced and also acted in the film, delivered a speech at the United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC) session in Geneva. Another proud moment for Sandalwood is that an action drama based on a mythological story will be screened at the United Nations. It will be played at the Pathé Balexart Theater on March 17, 2023. Kantara emerged as one of the biggest hits of 2022 and has now made its way to the United Nations. Rishabh Shetty is proud to represent ECO FON in presenting the Oral Statement at the UNHRC. In the council, they also discussed the role of Indian cinema in the conversation of One. He believes that environmental sustainability is the need of the hour and as an actor and director he aims to make a grassroots impact. He further emphasized that the medium of cinema holds the mirror of such environmental consciousness and plays an important role in showing the reality to the world. The actor further added that his latest film Kantara has important elements about human life in the lap of nature, local beliefs and rituals of the people. Rishab Shetty believes that films like Kantara highlight the reality and inspire people to face environmental challenges and solve problems. They arouse emotions and lead people towards environmental protection. Kantara explores the real story of a village in Karnataka and depicts a folklore festival called Bhoot Kola and Daiva Nartak. The film is directed by Rishab Shetty who also plays the lead role. The film did great business at the box office and earned Rs 400 crore to Rs 450 crore at the box office against a budget of Rs 16 crore. The film is produced by Vijay Kirgandur, owner of Humbel Films, who also produced KGF.
