Netflix India’s new show Foghra has captivated audiences across the globe. From Karan Johar to Hansal Mehta, people are raving about this small town series based in Punjab. The show is defined by the stellar performances of Barun Sobti and Suvinder Vicky. A veteran artiste in the Punjabi industry, she has worked in Hansal Mehta’s Shahid in the past. He is playing the role of Balbir Singh in the series. TV heartthrob Barun Sobti plays his junior colleague Om Garundi in the show. Suvinder Vicky said that he had a great time working with Sobti.
In an exclusive interview, Suvinder Vicky said, “I would say he is a cool guy. Barun has an easygoing nature about him, which is endearing. He is a very hardworking actor but pulls it off with ease. Also, I realized that he is a huge star looking at his work on TV and earlier shows, but he doesn’t have any arrogance or attitude.Initially, I was a bit apprehensive as compared to this I hardly worked outside Have done.” As we know Barun Sobti is also Punjabi. Vicky says, “He knew the language, and as the show progressed, we naturally connected. He is a Delhi boy and we found a lot of things to talk about. He is carefree and has a sense of vulnerability. This is what Vicky said when we asked him if he ever made a career in Bollywood. He told us that he never seriously pursued an acting career in Mumbai. He said, “Well, I had some personal reasons. I started acting in the mid-90s. At that time, the idea of traveling from Punjab to Mumbai for such an uncertain job was quite daunting. It took a few days by train.” My parents were a little horrified by the idea. So, I decided to work in Punjab only. To be honest, I have immense respect for all the aspirants who work hard in Mumbai to fulfill their Bollywood dreams. It takes a lot of heart work.”
He also said that he has come to Mumbai a few times as a tourist. The actor said he would be surprised to see youngsters thronging casting offices in Aram Nagar. He said, “You realize how much they have invested in their dreams. I sometimes wondered what it would be like to buy a house in Mumbai (laughs).”
