For Ashi Singh, her role in the show ‘Meet’ has been posing many challenges for her, especially in terms of learning different dialects.
Initially, she was seen speaking Haryanvi as Meet Hooda; After a one-year leap, the actress has to adopt the Gujarati dialect for the role of Manjari, a garba dancer.
Ashi Singh said: “‘Meet’ has been a big challenge for me ever since I signed up for it. Firstly, to get into the character of Meet Hooda, I have to learn and perfect my Haryanvi accent. And now I am working hard towards adopting the right Gujarati dialect to play the role of Manjari.
“I believe the show has kept me on my toes and helped me grow as an actor every step of the way. Having said that, it became a bit difficult to get my Gujarati accent right. It’s not as easy as it sounds, but the entire team at Meat has been incredibly supportive.”
Sharing how the entire team is helping her learn the language, Ashi Singh said, “They are helping me choose the right pronunciation for difficult words. I should also mention that this whole learning process has been fun for me, and I am giving my best to present the character as authentically as possible. ,
