Since the cinemas in India have fully reopened through the release of Suryavanshi Very few movies have been successful at the box office during Diwali 2021. Last year, in particular, was a forgettable one for Bollywood as only a few films did well. Nawazuddin Siddiqui has left no stone unturned once again saying that it is the big films that are hurting the industry the most.

Nawazuddin Siddiqui said – big films are bringing down the industry

In conversation with The Indian Express, the Babumoshai gunbaaz The actor said, “Sabse nukkad udyog ko badi film mein woh kar rahi hai (big films are causing the biggest damage to the industry). In one rare case anything works for a reason at the box office. But except most of the three films, 97 percent of the films are flopping. And these are all big movies. These are the films which are actually bringing down the industry, yahi barbaad kar rahi hai (These films are destroying the industry).

Nawazuddin is probably talking about masala films with big stars and lots of action. Questioning the contribution of directors and actors in these films, he said, “There is no story or performance in these films. They only have five songs, which are designed by the choreographer and if there is action, then the action designer.” What is the director doing in this? What is the actor doing in that?”

Nawazuddin slammed the makers for spending more amount on star actors instead of good actors. “They take 10-15 actors, cast them together and make a Rs 60-100 crore film, which people don’t want to watch. Nothing happens in these films and then they flop. He never took a good actor and made a Rs 50 crore film. One is the actor of the public and one is the actor of the industry. The actors of the industry keep coming back but the audience does not like them. But the one who is the actor of the public is not even allowed to reach the public.

Nawazuddin will be seen next time Jogira Sara Ra Ra Opposite Neha Sharma. The film is being directed by Babumoshai Bandookbaaz director Kushan Nandy and will release on May 12.
