The newly elected Executive Vice President Srikanth, Vice President Banarji, Joint Secretary Utej and eight executive members announced their resignations at a press conference in the presence of Prakash Raj, Jivita Rajasekhar and others.
Noted character actor Prakash Raj, who has expressed his displeasure over the elections, said his supporters have resigned as no work could be done in the Sangh in the last two years as the two rival factions were at loggerheads.
“Vishnu has made big promises, so we felt that our presence could be cited as an excuse for not fulfilling them. Hence, we have decided that we should not be an obstacle in the way of their decisions,” said Prakash Raj.
They said they have reached a decision on whether they can work in MAA “in such an environment” after detailed discussions and deliberations.

Prakash Raj alleged that there was “militancy” in the election and there were irregularities in cross voting and counting of votes. He also said that outsiders were brought from different places on the day of polling and seniors like Banerjee were mistreated and misbehaved.
The counting of votes on the first day was done for four-five hours and it was said that the result would be declared the next morning, but it took a whole day, he said.
Explaining how she was humiliated during the voting, Banerjee wept. He said that Vishnu’s father and veteran actor Mohan Babu used abusive words against him and even tried to assault him. He said that when Mohan Babu was shouting at Tanish, he came to the rescue of the latter, causing Mohan Babu to lose his cool and use abusive language.
In the election held on Sunday, he was elected as MAA President by defeating Vishnu Prakash by 109 votes. Vishnu Panel won the key posts of General Secretary, Treasurer, a Vice President and a Joint Secretary. In the elections for 18 executive committee members, the Vishnu Panel won 10 seats, while the opposition camp won the remaining eight.
