Actress Emily Blunt will star in “Pain Hustlers,” a criminal conspiracy film directed by “Fantastic Beasts” director David Yates, to be unveiled to buyers at Cannes.

From a script by “The True American” writer Wells Tower to “Variety,” the film is produced by Lawrence Gray through his Gray Matter Productions banner and Witchwood Pictures, according to Variety.

The Penn Hustlers’ official logline reads: “He and his young daughter, Liza Drake (Blunt), a high-school dropout dreaming of a better life, start a failed pharmaceutical in a yellow strip mall in Central Florida. Gets the job with -up.”

“Liza’s charm, guts and drive company and elevate her to the high life, where she soon finds herself at the center of a criminal conspiracy with deadly consequences. The vein of ‘The Big Short’, ‘American Hustle’ and in ‘The Wolf of Wall Street’‘Pain Hustlers’ is a hilarious, dramatic and wild journey into the corrupt heart of the American dream.”

BAFTA winning filmmaker Yates is gearing up for the release of his third film.Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore. Golden Globe winner Emily Blunt was most recently starred in ‘Jungle Cruise’. She will next appear in Christopher Nolan’s World War II epic ‘Oppenheimer’.
