recent oscar winner Sarah Polley has revealed his great shock on receiving a letter on Saturday morning saying he had won his award by mistake, and needs to mail it back to the Academy.
Canadian filmmaker, who won the award for Best Adapted Screenplay woman talking Told last month:
“We tell you this with great regret: The Oscar you received was given in error.”;
The letter asked her to “mail it back” to California, adding that she could keep the prize for another week so that it could “enjoy its presence” in her home before it passed on to the “rightful winner”. Could All Quiet on the Western Front,
The letter said the organizers had realized their mistake in the night, but were keen to avoid another LA La Land / Moonlight mistake in front of cameras
And then… Polly discovers that the letter didn’t come from the academy, but from her 11-year-old child, in a very effective April Fool’s prank.
As Polly said in the letter she shared on Twitter yesterday, their baby “swinged tall” this year…
