R Madhavan’s son Vedaant OPENS UP on his parents’ sacrifices; ‘I didn’t wanna live under my dad’s shadow’

R MadhavanVedanta Madhavan, his son, has recently made the country proud by winning a silver medal at the Denmark Open in Copenhagen. In a new interview, Vedant opened up about his parents’ sacrifice and said that he wanted to make a name for himself by not being in his father’s shadow. “I didn’t want to be in my father’s shadow. I wanted to make a name for myself. I didn’t just want to be R Madhavan’s son. They (parents) are always taking care of me. Both put in a lot of effort. Madhavan, who is extremely proud of his son’s achievements in swimming, had earlier taken to Instagram to share his happiness. Posting a video clip of his son receiving a silver medal, the actor wrote, “Vedanta Madhavan wins silver for India at the Danish Open in Copenhagen. Thank you Pradeep sir, Swimming Federation of India & #ansadxb for all your efforts . He also wrote a post talking about his son’s aspirations. “Let your child fly freely. Don’t let him pursue any career. I have no regrets for Vedanta not becoming an actor. His chosen profession is more important than my own career. I want him in life.” Do that to take him where he wants to go.

This is not the first time that Vedanta is winning a medal in swimming. Last year, the 16-year-old swimmer had won four silver medals and three bronze medals at the 47th Junior National Aquatic Championships held in Bangalore. Earlier in March last year, Vedanta had won a bronze medal in the Latvian Open Swimming Champions event.
