Rich, real name Roderick Moore, was riding in a Cadillac Escalade back in 2020 with two other men when they were stopped at a checkpoint operated by private security at 6:20 p.m., hours before the incident began. Police said the guards saw a nine mm gun and a magazine containing nine rounds of ammunition in the vehicle.
Rich, age 23, lives in Los Angeles. Police said he was charged with possession of weapons, large-capacity ammunition feeding devices and illegal feeding devices. New York has all serious charges, punishable by up to 7 years in prison for each count, sentences that can be increased if the person commits a felony.
Police said Carlos Collins, 57, of NJ, and Michael Figueroa, 46, of Brooklyn, also face gun charges.
Rich won a Grammy for Best Rap Performance in 2020. He was set to perform at the event on Saturday night.
