SS Rajamouli directorial RRR featuring Ram Charan and Jr NTR is currently one of the costliest films of the year. Although it was supposed to release this week, the makers were forced to postpone the film due to the rise in the cases of Kovid. Reportedly, the makers have left no stone unturned as they have spent around Rs 18-20 for the promotion of the film.

Last week, in an interview, the filmmaker had assured that his magnum opus will not be rescheduled under any circumstances but the virus has now played a major spoilsport as the makers were left with no option.

According to Bollywood Hungama, around Rs 18-20 was wasted in the promotion of Ram Charan and Jr NTR starrer RRR. Sources reveal that director SS Rajamouli was confident that his movie will not be postponed,” and he had the support of everyone who counted on the project, from the producers to the actors. But when the situation worsened, Rajamouli had to retreat.

Around Rs 2-3 crore was used to transport Ram Charan and Jr NTR fans while they promoted RRR outside Andhra.

The source further revealed, “SS Rajamouli knows that his two leading men in RRR have minimal fan base outside Andhra. For media/marketing events in Mumbai and other cities outside, Andhra fans were blown up and installed in luxury hotels. All they had to do was applaud, cheer and whistle for their gods in exchange for hospitality. ,

Sources further claim that superstars from the south like Rajinikanth, Kamal Haasan, Dulquer Salmaan and Prabhas did not create magic in the Hindi-speaking region. Baahubali may have been a surprise hit, but on the other hand, Saaho exploded at the box office. While the Hindi remake of Charan Ki Zanjeer was also not liked by the audience.

In an earlier interview with the same news portal, Fahadh Faasil was asked why he is not working Bollywood In the movies, the actor replied, “It’s not that I don’t admire actors and directors in Bollywood. I’m a huge fan of Aamir Khan’s films. But I don’t have any burning ambitions to become a star in Bollywood. So, I don’t think in Hindi and hence can’t express emotion in that language. Secondly, I don’t think doing films in Malayalam is a hindrance to pan-India reach. Not anymore.”

Meanwhile, the makers of RRR haven’t fixed another date for the release, which they will announce soon, apart from Ram Charan and Jr NTR, the SS Rajamouli directorial also stars Alia Bhatt and Ajay Devgn.
