Hollywood legend Russell Crowe, who was recently seen in Pope’s Exorcist, talks about his 1997 crime thriller flick LA Confidential. The 59-year-old actor, in his latest interview, shared that the studio behind the film stopped paying for his hotel and rental car with the intention of ousting him from the film.

According to the publication Insider, Russell Crowe claimed in his new interview, “A few days after rehearsals, the studio stopped paying the bill at the hotel and they stopped paying for my rental car. The studio doesn’t want I wanted to be in that role. They wanted, I think, Sean Penn and Robert De Niro in the movie, or something. The famed actor continued, “There was a period of maybe four or five days where I was walking down the back stairs. I was leaving the hotel in the morning by going downstairs as I knew the hotel manager was waiting for me in the lobby and asking when the bill was going to be paid.
Russell Crowe recalled, “If I’d stayed and said, ‘I’m not coming to work,’ they’d have taken that opening to kick me out of the movie.” The actor shared that he was unimpressed by the studio pulling him out of L.A. Confidential.
