Saas Bahu Aur Flamingo: Dimple Kapadia Opens Up About Evolving Female Characters In The Industry, “I’m Thrilled That Stories With Dynamic Female Relationships…”

Veteran star Dimple Kapadia is happy to see female roles evolving as today’s female characters have their own flaws.

Dimple said: “First of all, it is high time that we stop calling films and series as male-centric or female-centric. These are stories in their own right, regardless of the gender of the lead actors, these are stories that transcend gender, region and cultures that need to be talked about and celebrated.

Dimple Kapadia added: “However, I am thrilled that stories with dynamic female relationships are evolving, and that we see women in all forms in new characters. Moving on from the quintessential heroine, today’s female characters have their flaws, they are much more layered and now doing action just like the men in Saas Bahu and Flamingo!

She considers it more important to tell stories that reflect the diversity of the country – be it women, cultures or regions, and the current entertainment landscape is working in that direction.

“I’m so excited to see how this shapes up for me as an actor!”

Produced by Maddock Films, ‘Saas, Bahu Aur Flamingo’ is directed by Homi Adajania and stars Dimple Kapadia, Radhika MadanAngira Dhar and Isha Talwar play pivotal roles alongside a talented cast, Ashish Verma, Varun Mittra, Udit Arora, Deepak Dobriyal and Monica Dogra among others.

‘Saas, Bahu Aur Flamingo’ will release on May 5 on Disney Plus Hotstar.
