It has been 10 days since the Narcotics Control Bureau arrested Shah Rukh Khan’s son Aryan Khan in a cruise drug case. Aryan Khan’s case came up for hearing in a special NDPS court today before Special Judge VV Patil, after his bail plea was rejected twice. After hearing the matter till 5.30 pm, the court adjourned it to October 14.
Last Thursday, Aryan Khan was sent to judicial custody and remanded at Arthur Road Jail in Mumbai. The court hearing began with the NCB giving its reply on the bail applications. â1 The applicant cannot be considered in isolation. All these persons are an integral part of a common thread which cannot be separated or severed from each other. In such a situation, the quantum of recovery from one person becomes irrelevant. ,â read a part of the reply.
“Given the influential person, that this applicant is in the society, he may tamper with the evidence and influence other witnesses whom he knows personally. Also, deny the possibility of the applicant running away from justice.” Can’t be done,” NCB noted. Shahrukh Khan’s son Aryan.
Senior advocate Amit Desai, representing Aryan Khan, said in the court after reading out the replies to the bail plea by the NCB, “The maximum case against Aryan Khan is not possession, acceptance of consumption.” Desai said none of the seizures mentioned in the Panchnama belonged to Aryan.
“If he didn’t have cash, he wouldn’t have any plans to buy. If he didn’t have any substance, he wouldn’t be selling or consuming,” he said.
Talking about the allegations, Desai said, “The only section ’27A’ of the NDPS Act which deals with illegal traffic is not applicable to Aryan Khan. It has not been invoked as of now as he knows that Mr. Khan is not involved in any. Illegal smuggling. This applies to others, not to him.”
“Those are some little kids. In many countries these substances are legal. We shouldn’t punish in bail. Let’s not make it worse for them. They’ve endured a lot, they’ve learned their lesson, if at all. They Not peddlers, racketeer or smugglers,” Desai said.
After hearing Desai’s side, the ASG, representing NCB, presented its argument. At 5.30 pm, the ASG requested to continue the debate in the afternoon tomorrow. When Desai requested to fix it for 11 am tomorrow, the court said that it has 5-6 cases tomorrow and will consider it after that.
The NCB had seized 13 grams of cocaine, 5 grams of MD (mephedrone), 21 grams of charas (small quantity), 22 tablets of MDMA (ecstasy) (intermediate quantity) and Rs 1,33,000 from the International Cruise Terminal in Mumbai.
