It was only after he and his mother shifted to Mumbai, when he was 10 years old, that the distance between father and son narrowed and they got a chance to come closer to each other. Pankaj Kapur remarried actress Supriya Pathak after his divorce from Neelima Azeem. The couple has two children, Ruhaan and Sana Kapoor.

Shahid Kapoor shared screen space with Pankaj Kapur in three films, Mausam, Jersey and Shaandaar. Shahid has a few untitled projects in his kitty.
