And like a family, she says, the relationships between the actors were complicated.
Kenny said her relationship with Rossum, who played her sister on the show, felt like a sibling “in a good and a bad way.
âWe were both too young, I was obviously too young. At times she tried to be a good influence and then at times she would give me frankly⦠not the best advice,â Kenny said. Was battling internal problems and taking it out on other people. But we all handle situations differently.”
“Growing up I paid attention to â not just specifically â the things I wanted to pursue in my life and the things I didn’t want to pursue.”
When asked if she felt like she was living in Rossum’s shadow on the show Kenny, she said, “I definitely felt that dynamic and I never understood it. I was 9 years old and that Was 10 years older than me, so I’m like, ‘Why is there weird competition here when I’m not trying to compete?’ I don’t know if there were other people on set making it, or if she was making it, but I know I wasn’t making it.”
Rossum left the show in 2018 and Kenny said after she left “the set became a bit more of a positive space.
“I remember before he left, I used to go to set a few days and I would be very worried about doing a scene with him because if he had a bad day, he made it a bad day for everyone.”
As far as their relationship is concerned, Kenny says that they are not in touch.
“I love Amy so much, I’ve known her for so long. We haven’t talked in years… but that’s okay,” she said. “I have a lot of love for her, and I hope she gets her own Happiness will come.”
