Shamita Shetty reveals how a former boyfriend helped her identify her depression issues

She said, “To be honest, I don’t know what I was thinking when I decided to go into the Bigg Boss house. As you must have seen, I had many ups and downs inside the house. But, I don’t know if I can. How to manage. To put myself together and move forward. I think it was because of what I’ve been through in the past. I’ve been through depression and it’s made me stronger. That’s what challenges me Gives courage to face. I feel if I have overcome that, I can overcome anything”. Shilpa couldn’t be more proud of her sister and added, “You are so brave to say this, a lot of people in our country feel there is a stigma attached to depression and mental health issues.” Shamita continued, “Personally when I went through that phase I didn’t even know I was in depression. I couldn’t understand why I behaved or felt in a particular way. Lost me all the time. Shamita recalled how her ex-boyfriend helped her diagnose depression, “I was dating someone at the time and he told me ‘I think there is something wrong. People get caught up in the fact (that they have depression’). when they are going through the phase. Support from families is very important at that time. For people who don’t have that support from families, I would say, please do something for yourself. For your depression Ask for help.”
