Namita Thapar, co-founder of Emcure Pharmaceuticals, had earlier expressed her biggest regret for not being able to invest in Agro Tourism’s Jugadu Kamlesh and Pandurang Taware, which did not sell due to lack of proper guidance. Well, belatedly, Namita decides to rectify her mistake and goes to invest in Pandurang Taware’s startup company.
Making the announcement on Instagram, Namita shared her excitement to partner with Pandurang to help farmers across India. “A positive start to my weekend… My 2 regrets during Shark Tank were Jugadu Kamlesh and Pandurang Taware, 2 incredible farmers from Maharashtra. Today I have invested in Pandurang’s company which is working towards a super cause What is close to my heart – Agro Tourism – Excited to partner with all India farmers to help them show the world the beauty of our villages! #proudindian,” wrote Namita.
His post received a lot of appreciation from netizens, including Jugaadu Kamlesh aka Kamlesh Nanasaheb Ghoomre, a young entrepreneur from Malegaon, Maharashtra, whose hand-drawn carriage became one of the highlights of the season. He commented on Namita’s post, “Thank you so much ️❤️ You supported Pandurang sir ji.” On Shark Tank India, Lenskart co-founder, Piyush Bansal invested in Kamlesh’s hard draw cart with an interest-free loan of Rs 10 lakh and Rs 20 lakh in return for 40 per cent equity.
Earlier, Namita had revealed that during her stint at Shark Tank India, she has invested Rs 10 crore in 25 companies. “The entire shoot ended on December 12, 2021, and the show launched on December 20. I saw around 170 pitches and invested Rs 10 crore in 25 companies, which touched my heart. I spent Rs 7 crore during the show. And invested Rs 3 crore. I lost some deals and some current deals to increase my stake, Namita shared a quote from her weekly article on YourStory.
