Sherlock Holmes 3 starring Robert Downey Jr. has been in the making for some time now. Fans are starting to wonder whether this film is really happening or not. To provide peace of mind, director Dexter Fletcher has given an update on where the film is headed now.
In addition to his role as Iron Man, Downey Jr. is best known for his part as Sherlock in the movies. So far, two films have been received, and a third was confirmed long ago. However, it hasn’t been out since 2011. With the passage of more than a decade, fans’ curiosity grows.
Earlier it was being said that Sherlock Holmes would be released by 3 December 2021, but it did not happen. Now, director Dexter Fletcher has unfortunately more sad news. Speaking with Collider, he said that we won’t be seeing the Robert Downey Jr starrer anytime soon. “The pandemic derailed it,” Dexter said.
“I think it will be made. I think it has to be made,” the Sherlock Holmes 3 director continued. “I don’t know what the time frame is, unfortunately, but I believe it Must be… it’s fantastic. I think it’s all about being in the right place, at the right time. I think it is him,” he said.
“But I know the appetite for it is huge, and I am sure others are well aware of it too. But I believe it should be because it is fantastic. I have high hopes,” Dexter continued. That doesn’t mean there isn’t a Robert Downey Jr. movie Is happening, So there is some optimism behind it.
Meanwhile, it was previously speculated that Robert Downey Jr. is looking to bring in his friend Johnny Depp in Sherlock Holmes 3 to help revive his career.
