Goa Police said on Saturday that ‘methamphetamine’ drugs given to Sonali have been recovered from the washroom of Curlies restaurant in Anjuna-Goa. Deputy Superintendent of Police Jeevba Dalvi said investigation revealed that the drugs were supplied by Dattaprasad Gaonkar, who worked as a room boy at Hotel Grand Leoni Resort in Anjuna, where the accused man and the deceased were staying.
Sonali had come to Goa on August 22 and was staying at a hotel in Anjuna. Earlier, a CCTV footage showed Sonali struggling to maintain her balance and holding her accused while limping in the pub. A Goa court on Saturday remanded Sudhir Sangwan and Sukhwinder Singh to 10-day police custody. The police have registered a case against the owners of Curlies restaurant Edwin Nunes and Dattaprasad Gaonkar under sections 22(b), 29 and 25 of the NDPS Act, both of whom have been arrested.
