Sony Dates Legendary Pictures‘ Bert Kreischer Pic ’The Machine’ For Memorial Day Weekend

The Peter Atencio-directed film takes place 23 years after the original story that inspired it. In the picture, comedian/star Bert Kreischer faces a family crisis and the arrival of his estranged father (Mark Hamill), when the ghost of his alcohol-soaked past haunts Bert: a murderous mobster (Eva Babic). Hell to atone for his crimes on hijacking back the motherland. Together, he and his father must retrace the steps of his younger self (Jimmy Tatro) in the midst of a war between a sociopathic crime family, while they attempt to find common ground.

Kreischer will perform a special live pre-show event in Los Angeles on May 25 at 6:00 PM PST at a theater location to be announced. The pre-show, which will be telecast simultaneously in 1,000+ theaters across the country, will be followed by the first preview screening of the film. Tickets will go on sale at a later date.

Kevin Bezell and Scotty Landes wrote the screenplay based on Kreischer’s stand-up routine. Machine Kreischer, Cale Boyter, Judi Marmel, Peter Atencio, and LeeAnn Kreischer. Jay Ashenfelter and Philip Walle serve as executive producers. The film also stars Jimmy Tatro, Eva Babić, Robert Maser, Stephanie Kurtzuba, Jessica Gabor, Rita Bernard Shaw, Nikola Đuričko, Oleg Taktarov, Amélie Villers and Mercedes de la Cruz.
