Tadap Box Office Review: Expectations
To be honest, after watching the songs and the trailer, I was not expecting some mind blowing content from the film. It sounded like a typical Bollywood romantic drama with a bunch of songs. The songs managed to click somewhat, but that’s all.
From the word go, the film was primarily promoted to cater to the youth. And thanks to Pritam’s music and Sajid Nadiadwala’s support, the Ahan Shetty and Tara Sutaria starrer grabbed some attention and people came to know about it.
From the box office point of view, Tadap has carved a niche for itself as a credible audience and that is the youth. So, the first impression suggests that the film may do well at the ticket windows.
Tadap Box Office Review: Impact
Sunil ShettyK’s son has got the launching vehicle in the form of a tried and tested formula of the remake. Yes, this movie is an official remake of Telugu hit RX 100. However, it lacks the basic punch. The same story of love and betrayal (surprise in this case, but no spoilers here!) is presented multiple times. This is vintage wine in a recycled bottle, to say the least!
Coming to the performances, Ahan did a decent job in most parts of the film but went off board in a few. However, college students (in a theater where I watched the movie) were absolutely loving him, especially in the fight scenes. Tara Sutaria has a good screen presence and her magic is seen on the big screen. There is nothing much to talk about his performance.
Tadap Box Office Review: Final Verdict
It’s a moveable affair, but it’s the kind of movie couples and college students love to watch. We have already seen how films like Half Girlfriend have earned money on the basis of their music. That’s the case!
With not much to do in theatres, Tadap has room to earn 30-35 crore at the box office. It will face dent due to cold waves during the night show. It is totally believable on the young audience factor as the family audience will love Antiem on this.
