Thalaivii: The Kangana Ranaut-Led Jayalalithaa’s Biopic Gets Its CBFC Certificate

While the excitement for the theatrical release of Kangana Ranaut starrer ‘Thalaivi’ is reaching the rooftops, the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) has cleared the film by giving it a ‘U’ certificate.

Thalaivi is all set to hit the theaters worldwide on September 10 in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu. While the Tamil version had earlier received ‘U’ certification from the board, CBFC has now passed the Hindi version with ‘U’ certificate.

The trailer of Thalaivi had earlier impressed the audience with its accurate representation of Jayalalithaa’s life through various phases of her life. From recreating the looks and set-up of his film journey to creating no words to portray the political landscape, Kangana Ranaut The starter brings to the screen the untold truth of Amma’s life.

Opting for a theatrical release, the makers of the Kangana Ranaut starrer paid a tribute to bring Jayalalithaa back on the silver screen.

Directed by Vijay, Thalaivi is presented by Vibri Motion Pictures, Karma Media Entertainment and Zee Studios in association with Gothic Entertainment and Sprint Films. It is produced by Vishnu Vardhan Induri and Shailesh R Singh and co-produced by Hitesh Thakkar and Thirumal Reddy, with Brinda Prasad as the creative producer.
