‘The Simpsons,’ ‘Family Guy’ & ‘American Dad!’ Agree To Recognize Animation Guild As Bargaining Rep For Their Production Workers

The production companies behind the long-running chain simpson, family Guy And American father! voluntarily recognized animation guild As a bargaining representative for your show’s production workers.

“The agreements have been signed,” a spokesman for the Guild said. By signing, the companies have agreed to enter into collective bargaining with the Guild.

The move to unionize came on 26 May when most of the show’s production workers requested that the companies voluntarily recognize the guild as their bargaining agent. The Guild then petitioned for union elections with the National Labor Relations Board for each show.

Workers in bargaining units include the show’s production manager, production supervisor, production coordinator, writer assistant, production assistant, associate producer, office assistant and IT supervisor. The show’s animators are already covered by a guild’s contract.

On the same day news comes that the members of Animation Guild voted overwhelmingly to confirm His new film and TV contract with the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers.
