Although Thor: Love and Thunder has just been released, Marvel fans are already discussing their thoughts on the fifth installment. The fourth part of the standalone Thor series sees Chris Hemsworth playing the titular role after Ragnarok. It opened to a vigorous opening and fans showered it with love.
We just covered its opening weekend box office, and the film lived up to its expectations in terms of earnings $302 million, In the US, it was able to surpass the openings of all three other films on Asgardian and set a new record. Now, as fans throng the theatres to watch the film, they have started talks on the next installment.
Chris Hemsworth’s Thor is the first Marvel superhero to get a fourth standalone flick Thor: Love and Thunder, and it sets up a fifth part or so of a spin-off series. More recently, actress Tessa Thompson aka Valkyrie talked about the possibilities of her character on her own solo adventure. The actress said that she would love to do it.
But some fans have their own theories and expectations around the 5th part if it happens. Many discussed whether Taika Waititi should direct the next film. He has directed Ragnarok and Thor: Love and Thunder. One user said, “I love Love and Thunder, and hell I used to love Ragnarok, but I don’t want Taika to direct Thor 5.
“I want the Russo Brothers to direct #Thor 5 bcz their best version was in Infinity War, and they should adopt that style!” Another noted. But many others expected Taika Waititi to direct the film. Several other fans brought in more names, including Justice League’s Zack Snyder.
