Akshay Kumar and the entire team of ‘Raksha Bandhan’ arrived to launch the trailer of their upcoming film. Usually the trailer launch doesn’t happen in Delhi, but since the film is all set in Chandni Chowk, the makers chose to do it in the capital.
From chaat, chole-bhature to traditional attire and various rakhi stalls, the Delight Cinema of the capital was decorated to give the feeling as if you were walking through the lanes of Chandni Chowk.
Fans gathered and waited with bated breath to welcome the cast of Aanand L Rai’s ‘Raksha Bandhan’ including Akshay Kumar, Bhumi Pednekar, Sahajmin Kaur, Deepika Khanna, Smriti Srikkanth and Sadia Khatib besides the director.
The story of ‘Raksha Bandhan’ centers around a caring brother played by Akshay Kumar, who is not ready to settle down till his four sisters get married.

Akshay Kumar said: “Never felt like shooting for a film. It was like homecoming for me and hence this film is very close to my heart. I just remember what we ate during the shooting of the film. It was like we were having a picnic with Aanand L Rai.”

Terming it ‘amazing’ Sahajmeen, Dipika, Smriti and Saadia described their experience of shooting with Akshay and Bhumi as fun. Deepika, who has worked in “Gandii Baat”, “Yeh Crazy Dil”, “Patiala Babes” and “Who is Your Daddy”, said, “I had a great time on the sets and had amazing food.”
The entire cast joked with fans and media during the trailer launch. ‘Raksha Bandhan’ is directed by Aanand L Rai and produced by Alka Hiranandani, Color Yellow Productions, Zee Studios, in association with Cape of Good Films.
It is set to hit the theaters on August 11.
