Twinkle Khanna felt like a ‘ball of gas’ while shooting with SRK for a song from Baadshah – here’s why

Twinkle Khanna Even though she has quit showbiz long back, she never fails to entertain us with her behind-the-scenes craze. She recently recalled that when she wore Manish Malhotra’s clothes for a romantic song Mohabbat Ho Gayi, she felt like a ball of gas. Shahrukh Khan Starr Badshah. Twinkle said, “Every time I had to wear Manish Malhotra’s clothes, it meant either I was not eating, I had to suck my stomach inwards. There was a song in which you were dressed and I Had eaten only gram for a week.” Manish Malhotra in conversation on his YouTube channel Tweak India. She continued, “I was so scared that if the hero picked me up, I would be like a gas ball because I had only gram. But that’s what you had to do to put on your clothes.” Manish further added that such clothes became a trend after designing for him Urmila Matondkari In Rangeela. She also noted that the directors she worked with wanted glamorous clothes that were sexy and short. He told Twinkle, ‘It was such a trend at that time that you too had to be a victim of it. Twinkle wore a variety of outfits, from a red bodysuit, printed jumpsuit to crop top and slit mini skirt, designed by Manish Malhotra for the song Mohabbat Ho Gayi, which also featured Shah Rukh Khan.

Meanwhile, a new film is in the works based on actress-turned-writer Twinkle Khanna’s 2016 anthology, The Legend of Lakshmi Prasad’s short story Salaam Noni Appa. Talking about the story’s journey, Twinkle had said, “Salaam Noni Appa, from my second book, is based on the relationship between my grandmother and her sister. It was earlier adapted into a lovely play.” Lillete Dubey was in the lead role in the play.

Incidentally, another story from the anthology, The Sanitary Man of the Sacred Land, was written by R. Balki in the much awaited film, Pad Man. Twinkle’s husband, Bollywood superstar Akshay KumarPlayed the main character in the film.
