Tamil superstar Dhanush will next be seen in Venky Ataluria’s Vaathi. The trailer of the much-awaited film was released today, a few days ahead of its theatrical release. It is a bilingual film shot simultaneously in Tamil and Telugu and titled as Vaathi and Sir respectively. The trailer was launched today at an event held at AMB Cinemas in Hyderabad.
The trailer begins with a voiceover explaining that education in India is a non-profit affair. The chairman of a private institute announced that government colleges would soon be adopted to provide better education. Dhanush plays a maths teacher and is assigned to a school where he meets Samyuktha Menon who is a biology professor. He later learns the poor reality of the education system in rural areas and fights against it as he understands that the idea of converting government schools into private institutions is a money-making business. He battles the mafia who are offering him an education in exchange for their profits.

The movie looks promising from the trailer Dhanush Fights against the corrupt education system that exploits children. Vaathi is a hard-hitting social drama set in the 1990s that highlights the privatization of the education system and how one person opposes it. Dhanush looks impeccable and fits perfectly into the character of a junior lecturer who fights against for-profit education that exploits children.
Vaathi in Tamil and Sir in Telugu is a social drama directed by Venky Atluria. It stars Dhanush and Samyukta Menon in lead roles. Suryadevara Naga Vamsi and Sai Saujanya have produced the film under the banners of Sithara Entertainments and Fortune Four Cinemas. The flick is scheduled to release on 17 February 2023.
